Perfectly clean tiny soda-glass round beads (no free silica to endanger your lungs) to easily add weight to your doll and will never spoil or rust or powder like other weight items might. Fine beads are the approximate size as regular cooking salt.
As a 24 yr veteran of reborn doll making, I'd never use or recommend anything else for your precious creations :)
To use, simply pour enough into an empty limb to achieve a realistic weight (I usually fill a little over halfway) and then stuff tightly with polyfill and seal the opening well. For heads and bodies I fill a small fabric sack or knee-high stocking with desired amount of beads, knot securely and place inside the doll. Placing the weight bag inside the face will cause the doll to naturally fall forward rather than backward (unnatural). Inside the body I often place one inside the tushy area and another one in the belly-chest area.
