First of all, the Chinese counterfeiters have STOLEN some good artist's original photos to sell their garbage from.

Second of all, there is no telling what cheap, potentially dangerous or toxic "vinyl" they are producing over there. It's a Wild West Show, completely unregulated.

Third of all, they are COUNTERFEITING legitimate doll sculptor's work! Yes, they can get their hands on a doll that was sculpted by one of the better known doll kit artists, and then create a new mold and begin producing KNOCK-OFFS from them. THAT IS INTERNATIONAL COPYRIGHT LAW INFRINGEMENT.

Fourth of all, you can only purchase a REAL reborn doll from an individual doll artist who buys the kit and materials and makes it from scratch. It might be already done and on eBay, Etsy or any other sales venue or you might buy a custom order. But you will ONLY be dealing with an individual reborn doll artist and you will NOT pay "$89" or some ridiculously low price for original art work such as I make or such as many other reputable artists make.

THIS IS A TRAVESTY of the art form that I have loved and promoted and given my life into since 2002. It makes us ALL sick and angry to see this happening. DON'T DO IT.

Please know that the ONLY coupons, promotions and codes you can use on my site are those you get directly from ME using either direct email link (meaning it came to your inbox from my email) OR using my Rewards system which is run by Smile.io.  They are legit.  NOTHING ELSE IS.

In this day and age of easy counterfeiting, mirroring, and fake look alike sites, we honest entrepreneurs must protect ourselves as best we can.  A prospective customer contacted me yesterday, having searched my Nursery site which had taken her to a Chinese mass market doll kit counterfeiting company called Reborndolls.com.  It took several puzzling emails back and forth for me to connect the dots and realize what had happened.  

Of course, that brings up the other issue of Chinese doll companies ILLEGALLY remolding original doll parts and then selling them on a massive worldwide sale through the largest merchandising sites.  How do they do this?  They copy original artist's prototype photographs from eBay, Etsy, and their dealer sites and then claim them as their own work.  Unsuspecting people see these wonderfully created lifelike baby dolls, see the cheap prices and WHAM...they are hooked.  I wonder how many people have been cheated out of their hard earned money to date.  It is so frustrating.  You may wonder why I state on my header that I sell only authentic doll kits.  That's why.  I'm a doll sculptor as well as reborn artist and doll dealer.  I have some skin in this game as do you!  

We all need to work together to prevent losses, and keep scammers from winning.

This is pretty much the most outrageous thing I've seen yet in my days as a reborn artist, and I began doing this in 2002. I remember back years ago, one artist tried to claim she inventing reborning, and she was considered a laughingstock soon enough. Lots of people thought of doing what we called "reborning" at various times over the years starting as early as 1939 according to Wikipedia.

Now, we have one Amy D. Wilson, with the effrontery to file for a trademark on the words "reborn baby doll". She is harassing people on eBay for using that term. She is systematically using the VeRO system (and whatever they use on Etsy) to shut down all auctions in which the word reborn is used.
