NEW! Sculpey Living Doll Polymer Clay, 1 lb bar Now In 3 Different Colors! (Brown is special order, please allow up to 2 weeks)
The European equivalent of Prosculpt is here! It looks and feels just like Prosculpt (although I will have to come back and give you a more subjective opinion once I've actually sculpted with it). Because of it's strength, fine tooling and detailing characteristics, it is frequently the chosen clay for making prototypes from which molds are made.
After curing in the oven, (NEVER microwave!!) SS Living Doll can be sanded, drilled carved and painted. Genesis heatset paints work extremely well. Paint should be applied in thin washes rather than thick coats for the best paint to clay bond. Living Doll bakes to a ceramic-like hardness and can be sanded to a fine smoothness. Other doll sculptors have given this clay raves, and I'm happy to be able to bring it to you.
Super Sculpey should be cured in a preheated 275 degree F (135 degree C) oven for 15 minutes per quarter inch of thickness. DO NOT MICROWAVE.
Polymer clay products should remain fresh if properly stored in a cool place, away from heat and direct sunlight.
**I now recommend using a dedicated convection type oven vented to the outside, if possible, to bake vinyl and polymer clay dolls. Heated vinyl and polymer clay release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and vaporized plasticizers which can be toxic with frequent exposure**
