Heatset Matte Varnish, 1 oz (also available in 4 ounce size)

A thick gel-like paste that can be applied over cured Genesis paint to give a matte finish (no shine). It's not a sealer, and not necessary unless you want to eliminate shiny areas. If applied too thickly, it will create a sandpaper texture, so I recommend a very thin coat well spread out. It takes about 2 minutes longer to heatset than all the other Genesis products.

It's wonderful for cutting the shine on silicone-vinyl dolls! Hurray, no more shiny babies :-) Since Genesis doesn't package a one ounce size, I repackage and relabel these jars myself, and they have the full instructions for use on the back label, just like the larger size.

Genesis products MUST be heatset in an oven (regular or convection) at 265*F (130*C) or with

a heatgun. I recommend using an oven thermometer to be sure that the paint reaches

curing (drying) temperature. Once properly heatset, this paint becomes a permanent part

of the vinyl or baked polymer clay! There is no fading or rub-off with Genesis paints.
